More About This Event

Attention Residents, Business Owners, and Visitors of Hatboro! Borough Council and the Borough’s Business Recovery Task Force will be creating a temporary outdoor dining area on Williams Lane from York Road to the rear parking entrance of Bernie’s Restaurant (entrance to Bernie’s and other businesses with rear parking will be accessible) on the following dates:

Weekend 1: Thursday, June 11th through Sunday, June 14th

Weekend 2: Thursday, June 18th through Sunday, June 21st

As a result, Williams Lane will be closed to vehicular traffic during the above times for this new outdoor dining area. While the outdoor eating area is open, there will be no through traffic permitted on Williams Lane between York Road and Orchard Lane (Thursday through Monday of each weekend).

This dining area will be filled with picnic tables, decorative lighting, and greenery to provide an outdoor eating area where residents and visitors can enjoy takeout from our local businesses with a side of fresh air!

This new initiative aims to help Hatboro’s local businesses while the Borough moves through the Governor’s COVID-19 Reopening stages by providing a centrally located, convenient area for patrons to dine local at establishments that have limited to no outdoor dining.

After the first two weekends of the outdoor dining area, the Borough will reevaluate the community dining area based on demand and the COVID-19 restrictions for our area prior to scheduling more outdoor dining periods.

Residents and business owners in the area must remove cars from Williams Lane in this area on Thursday, June 11th and Thursday, June 18th to aid Public Works in setting up the outdoor dining area. Meter bags will be placed on Williams Lane to assure Meter Stalls remain unused each Thursday. Any restaurants who will receive deliveries via Williams Lane during the above-mentioned weekends are encouraged to notify vendors who will be delivering goods ahead of time.

The Borough notified all police, fire, and EMS services of the Williams Lane Road Closure to assure they are aware of the closure in the event of an emergency.

Residents and businesses in the area of Orchard Lane and Williams Lane/York Road will receive flyers notifying them of these closures.

For questions or concerns about this dining area, please contact Borough Hall at 215-443-9100.
